« Designing Jewels » Exhibition
Luxury, calm and voluptuousness laid down on paper.
A simple draft or sketch and/or a true work of art, the drawn jewel remains a technical tool that guides the various trades in the production of the piece of jewellery.
It is always drawn in real size, made on scale 1, often in ink, watercolor or gouach.and, on different media: sketchbooks, sheets of white or colored paper, tracing paper.
Very rarely exhibited, the design of jewelry remains a delight for the eyes!
The collection presented mainly brings together works from the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century.,including old models and avant-garde artists.
Let us mention large workshops such as Lalique, Tiffany or Vever but also lesser known names such as Paillet, Brédillard, Hatot, Mellerio Borgnis and many anonymous people...
