Julie Mialet will be your privileged interlocutor to help you create a unique piece or to modify your jewel because the creation of a personalized and custom-made jewel is an intimate and personal story.
Your jewel will come to life thanks to the work of meticulous goldsmiths and will follow different steps: from the choice of the stone to the design, including waxing, casting, setting and polishing!
1. Selection of the stone
All our creations are made in a Parisian workshop and meet the criteria of requirement of the Jewelry made in France. The selection of the stones: Whether you are in possession of a stone or you are looking for a unique stone, our first meeting will serve to choose the stone or stones that will be the basis of our work!
Julie will ask you multiple questions to determine your personality and your tastes, modern, classic, minimalist or opulent! If you already have a precise idea of the setting, do not hesitate to propose it to us.
2. Drawing and Modeling
Based on our first meeting and according to precise specifications, Julie will submit to you a felt-tip or "gouache" drawing of the necklace, bracelet or unique ring that will be made for you. This will allow you to visualize the jewel at best.
3. Wax model
Whether it is in wax or directly in metal, the model is the basis of your future jewel. Made according to the design of your choice, it includes the dimensions and the locations necessary for the fine and/or precious stones and diamonds that will be added later during the setting stage.
When a piece of jewelry comes out of the casting stage, the metal is in its raw state: its surface is not smooth and has many imperfections that must be corrected before the final result is obtained!
4. Setting your jewelry
To decorate and adorn your jewel with fine or precious stones (diamond, sapphire, ruby, emerald, tourmaline, garnet, Tanzanite, opal.....), it is the craftsman setter who enters the scene. According to your wishes, he will opt for a closed setting, a claw setting, a massé or a paving.
5. Polishing and Rhodium plating
Because your jewel is unique, there are many finishes to be applied just before the last step of polishing: hammering or brushing for a material effect, external or internal engravings for a personalization of the jewel: all finishes are possible.
Finally, the last step of the jewel, polishing, sometimes completed by a white rhodium plating for white gold jewels, will make your jewel shiny.
6. Punching
The hallmark of a jewel in precious metal (gold, silver or platinum) is the guarantee of the purity of the metal. It is done with a hammer that will leave the hallmark, by an approved customs service. The hallmark of master is the hallmark made by the craftsman jeweler, it will affix at the very last stage of manufacture of the jewel.
There are many hallmarks for gold depending on its purity: 999, 750, 585, 375 ... Pierres de Julie guarantees the hallmark, eagle head, 750/1000eme for gold 18 carats.
