The revival of Marina B
Created in 1978, the Marina B house represents another talent in the great Bulgari line…
Her history:
Daughter of Constantino Bulgari and granddaughter of the founder: Sotirios Voulgaris, Marina B knew how to establish herself in the 1980s and 1990s by combining her ancestral know-how with her talent.
But before that, she traveled the world for a long time before returning to Italy to take the helm of the family house: Bulgari.
After the death of her father Marina took off in 1978 to found her own eponymous house.
Very quickly the brand knows immense success and is exported internationally. Many boutiques are springing up in the biggest cities of the world: London, New York, Milan, Tokyo and Geneva.
Marina B therefore conquered the whole world but also the great emblematic figures of this era such as Grace Kelly, Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren. The house is then associated with Italian glamour.

At the end of the 1990s, Marina B was sold to a rich Saudi and then bought by an American investor, before being reborn in the hands of Guy Bedarida.
Marina B died in February 2024 and was then honoured by the profession.
Her style:
Although the style of the 80s seems offbeat, Marina B has created timeless jewelry.
Through its creations rich in color and volume, the house has managed to impose its image in the world of jewelry.
She works on jewels appreciated by the greatest number of people such as long necklaces like the Cardan, large cuffs, iconic chockers like the Trisola or OCA, and modular jewellery lile the famous tyre earrings with interchangeable stones.

Marina B innovates in stone cuts with cabochons, suifed stones and even creates its own cut: the Marina B cut, between heart and pear shapes. Other notable innovations are the development of jewelery on springs which makes them easier to wear, and the appearance of spheres without visible wires.

The brand's DNA is characterized by its inspiration from Greek and Italian mythology. Thus Marina B's creations are punctuated by geometric lines, diamonds and ever more colorful stones.
Marina B jewelry is still very popular on the vintage market today. In particular its famous cabochon chokers from the 80s, which still seem to be in tune with the times. These chokers are very popular today and relatively difficult to obtain. Indeed, there is a waiting list to get them.

The rebirth of the house:
The Marina B house had practically ceased its activity in 2002, when in 2017 Guy Bedarida bought it and took over the controls. The Franco-Italian designer trained with Monsieur Boucheron, Place Vendôme, and continued his career at Van Cleef & Arpels as chief designer of the American branch.
The new artistic director and owner therefore continues to seduce his clients with modern creations that still reflect the DNA of Marina B.
Guy Bedarida wants to reinterpret certain emblematic models of the house by giving them a touch of modernity.
The designer imagined a collection: Lalli, in the image of the alliance between the DNA of Marina B and modernity. There are natural sapphires, emeralds, Paraiba tourmalines and diamonds which will contrast with contemporary materials such as black titanium covered with PVD (special process used for decorative and functional coatings) which reinterprets the onyx used by Marina . This technique then makes it possible to obtain jewelry that is lighter and therefore easier to wear.
